Award Categories - Sustainable Workspace

The award category of "Sustainable Workspace" is designed to showcase a design and construction process for structures that reflect a sense of stewardship for the environment. The buildings should show an understanding of and solutions to problems such as water runoff, heating and cooling energy consumption, construction waste and water waste, among other issues.

• May be 'Proposed' (planning application submitted), 'In Progress' or 'Completed' (within the last year).
• Must have a commercial aspect
• Must conform to ISO14000
• Have a regularly updated and adhered to environmental policy
• Should show the intent and thought behind the building
• Should be located within 30 miles of the Brighton West Pier
• Should include brief details of the initiative or strategy for managing energy use

If completed:

• should show evidence of actual measured energy performance, including a DEC
• Should include evidence of the measures taken to reduce energy use, whether they are technical or involve changing staff or user behaviour by training, education and motivational activities
• Must include copies of the sustainability and environmental policies (please attach copies)
