News of the World - What Now for Employees?

News of the World - What Now for Employees?

Many former News of the World employees will be waking up this Monday morning and wondering what just happened?  Though we are not aware of exactly how the closure was announced, if we are to believe what we read in the papers (and I will leave you to decide on that) there are a number of potential legal failings in how the News of the World bosses have dealt with the closure.

If these are to be believed the News of the World could be facing at least failure to consult and unfair dismissal claims in the coming months. If, as is rumoured, the new Sunday Newspaper replaces the News of the World there could be Transfer of Undertaking (TUPE) issues as former News of the World employees may transfer to the Sunday Newspaper.

Dare I say "all will be revealed in this week's edition of ………!"
