Keeping one step ahead
What our clients say
ACUMEN BUSINESS CLUB
The ACUMEN BUSINESS CLUB was set up in 2009 and has maintained its vibrant nature throughout. It is a private business club limited to 50 members who may join by invitation only and subject to qualification criteria (below). Throughout the years our members have made great business contacts including new clients, suppliers and referrals. But, equally important, the club provides our members an opportunity to share the trials, tribulations and the joy of running a business and many members, including us, amended their business strategy further to the fascinating conversations held.
Not surprisingly, the rumour has spread and every year we have over a dozen new qualified members on the waiting list who applied requesting to join. We always welcome new potential members, but those can only be invited to join if there are vacancies because the club's membership is exclusive and deliberately limited to 50.
ABOUT THE MEMBERSHIP
Members are primarily business owners, executives, entrepreneurs or representatives of financial institutions. Each business focus group comprises of approximately ten members and each business focus group will have one member per industry. At the start of every club year, each business focus groups will be "reshuffled" to enable members meet and engage with new businesses.
ABOUT THE MEETINGS
Meetings are held seven times a year, between 6.00 to 8.00 pm at the ACUMEN BUSINESS LAW Boardroom in Hove (unless hosted by one of the members in their offices). The meetings are made up of 4 team meetings, 2 big meetings with all the 50 club members and the ACUMEN BUSINESS CONVENTION normally held in May. The meetings are run in a friendly and relaxed manner with refreshments and drinks where members introduce themselves and their business and we all debate relevant business issues, challenges as well as share successes. In the big meeting a specialist is invited to present a specific business topic and there are fantastic networking opportunities too.
QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
To ensure the discussions are held with like-minded individuals who share similar experiences, we introduced qualification criteria of a minimum turnover of £500,000.00 OR employing a minimum of five employees. The member must be the decision maker in the business/Owner /Shareholder/Director/Executive/Entrepreneur) and the members, or another representative within the business who is also a decision maker, will make every effort to attend all seven meetings.
