United in Employment Update

Just to say a quick thank you to all of you who made it last week.

We had an agenda packed evening!

Kevin Byrne, Founder & MD of Check a Trade had a very humorous but thought provoking presentation on the effect of employment regulations from a business perspective followed up by Helen Price-Evans, their HR Manager, providing practical examples.

Then Richard Clapson, FD of Icon Live, provided us with a fascinating insight into how a company the size of Icon, employing hundreds of employees, is dealing with the burden of employment law requirements.

Ruby Dinsmore, Head of Employment at ACUMEN BUSINESS LAW, provided a brief but very informative overview of the new Equality Act initiating a lively debate on its practical effect on SMEs. Ruby also reminded us of all the reasons behind the setting up of the UNITED IN EMPLOYMENT Lobby and thoughts about going forward.

We finished off with festive drinks, food and discounted jewellery shopping- courtesy of Icon Live.
