In addition we're kicking off with a celebratory lunch and giving you the chance to attend two interactive workshops, instead of the usual one. As if that weren't enough we're also launching the Business Acumen Award - could you be the one to take centre stage and put your business acumen in the spotlight?

It's going to be Acusplendid!  In the words of one of our delegates "If (this Convention is) half as good as last year's, it'll be twice as good as any other convention in 2014".

Workshops

Life Death and Taxes:

What if there is a disagreement, a shareholder dies or, less dramatically, when one shareholder retires? An agreement between the shareholders is the pre-nup of the business world and this workshop will provide a practical guide to why they are useful and how they help manage the relationships between business partners throughout the life of a company. The workshop will also equip you with some tips on implementing different classes of shares and exit strategies to help the bottom line.

Be Intellectual with your Property

For many businesses their intellectual property strategy is reactive rather than proactive and, as such, lucrative exploitation opportunities are often overlooked. This workshop will look at strategies for maximising your Intellectual Property and ensuring it becomes your business least underrated asset.

Calling in sick? What, again?!

This workshop will cover all types of absence; long and short term, maternity/paternity leave and disability issues, and will look at how best practice and policies can reduce absenteeism and help to deal with serial offenders.

See you in Court!

The best way to avoid litigation is to prevent it! This workshop will set out five of the most commonly litigated commercial issues, such as breach of your Terms & Conditions, exploitation of your brand, shareholder disputes and such other common business disputes. You will be provided with practical tips that you can promptly implement in your business to minimise your chances of getting embroiled in time consuming, not to mention expensive, disputes.
